East of Art Foundation was founded in January 2006. Foundation is focused on the spread of the knowledge and promote the contemporary art of young artists. The aims are:
  • organisation and financing the art exhibitions in Poland and abroad
  • run the analisis and studies on the contemporary art field
  • collecting artworks of visual art
  • cooparation with cultural institutions in Poland and abroad
  • digitalization of Foundation's collection
  • organisation of meetings and simposiums in the subject of contemporary art
Some of the artistic and educational projects that the Foundation is working on are:

ART BOOM FESTIVAL- the East of Art Foundation is the author of the idea and a co-organizer with the City of Krakow and the Krakow Festival Office. The festival is focused on a visual art in public space. It is a meeting point of foreign and polish artist that work with a various kind of media. It was created as a place of an artistic dialogue of the city space with its residents using new values of art. We concider it as well as an intervention in the urban space.

VIDEO NOW- the project is a cyclical review of a polish video art. Is focused on promotion and popularisation of this media and its importatnt position in the filed of art. The project was started in 2007. Up till now there were planty projections, lectures and discussions.

VIDEO NOW DOCUMENT- this project is specialised in the video art promotion. It has a strong educational aspect. One of the result will be production of a multi- media video guide through works of important polish artists.

URBAN PROJECT KRAKOW- project was set up in June 2009 as a result of the discussion around the Art Boom_1Festival. The project is a result of cooperation among the Małopolski Instytut Kultury, Wschód Sztuki Foundation, Klub Krytyki Politycznej w Krakowie and Splot Foundation. The project works in wide scale of an artistic and social area. Its crucial elements are: - theory- education and discussion, lectures, workshops, exhibitions and publications on a creation in the public space - intervation- introduction of art in the excluded spaces, opening new ways for the artistc activity, re-gainng the postindustrial areas - debate- the active participation around the plans and projects of development of urban space, consolidation among the local residents in the debate and encouraging in taking active part in the decision process, eliminating so-called „black points” of a dialogue

CONTEMPORARY BELARUS- the aim is to animate and promote the belarus art scene, unknown for the polish and european public. All the activities in this area are to exchange the knowladge and heritage of neibouring culture. As a part of the project exists a bilingual blog http://contemporarybelarus.wordpress.com/

ELECTRONICA MAGISTRA NOSTRA – is a cicle of lectures co- organised with the students of History of Art at Jagiellonian University. The subjects of the lectures are conected with the electronical art, consists of projections of films, meetings with artists and critics, discussions.
